A month ago I got a crazy idea about my future vacation in September. For someone who can speak English, there are many opportunities for independent traveling all around the world. “Why don't I go cycling somewhere?” – I asked myself and immediately started to research this subject.
First of all, I decided it should be in Europe, because there is a lot to see there for me and it's relatively safe (sometimes I think sensibly). Second of all, the main country of the trip will be Switzerland, because of the beautiful nature, the mountain landscape, and other places of interest. Besides, I like chocolate and cheese, so it fits me. But my main reasons for choosing Switzerland are that it's a cycling-friendly country, there are a lot of bicycle routes there, and the Internet provides all the information you need for an independent tour. In addition I’ve included a little bit of France and Germany in my trip, since French wine and German beer are interesting to me :).
Finally I made a route http://www.bikemap.net/route/600066. The main parameters of the project are
1. It is 16 days long, including 13 days on bike
2. Total distance is about 1100 km, with an average of 85 km a day
3. The highest point is 2400 m above sea level.
I bought a plane ticket, rented a bike, booked my hotels, got my visa, and I’m totally ready !
Unfortunately I don’t know any official languages of the countries I’m going to visit, but I hope that English as the international language will help me.
